Depending on which contributor you are -
Welcome or Welcome back!

Whether you're a returning or first-time contributor to one of our projects within The GoBe Collective,  I want to extend gratitude for considering to offer your insight and energy to this exciting kids' project.  I don't want to get too much into my personal life story or the company's timeline here, but you can search this website to learn more about our journey, our beliefs , our objectives, and future product offerings.   If you're returning or have shaped our foundation a decade ago, the information might overlap because it's now being applied to this specific project.  Either way, I am grateful that you're here!

The GoBe Collective's aim is to inspire connections everyday.   We encourage people to connect to themselves, in their relationships or with their community.  We've created a variety of ways that people can connect - some are products that people can purchase and some are free programs or opportunities to show off our spirit.  I want to be clear about who we are and why we are.  And this is to ensure that this relationship of you contributing to our collective,  is based on mutual respect and understanding.

If this sounds confusing or overwhelming, it very well might be.  It has taken over a decade to understand that we are really authentic.  Our message, our purpose, our style, our spirit, our motivation, our products, our activism and our intentions are all focused in the same energy of empowering people to live their best life.   And our organizational recipe encourages that within each project, contributors connect to enrich whatever is being developed.   And in this case, it's a children's book.

Again, I want to welcome you to this unique opportunity of developing NightOwl & EarlyBird:  Life at the Olive Tree with our team.  I ask that you take your time in reviewing and understanding this information on this weblink before making a decision to participate.  As this is a team dynamic, multiple contributors are offering insights that may be dependent on the order of insights collected.  I encourage you to communicate to the best of your ability to let me know what you think and feel.

I am happy you are here!  If you have any questions before signing the non-disclosure agreement, located at the end of this introductory section, please email me here or call me directly.

The light in me greets the light in you,

This introductory section

This internal page will explain how the company's objectives and culture apply to NightOwl & EarlyBird:  Life at the Olive Tree.  The synopsis, objectives and approach will be discussed further, but ultimately, the story reminds us that olives and the olive branch has always been symbolic for peace.   The story will explore these stories where the olive has been used in the religions and ancient civilizations that border the Mediterranean Sea, throughout history - some 22 countries at present.

Please allow the information presented here a chance to sink in to determine if this project resonates with you and your goals.  We ask that you inform us either way of your willingness to participate based on the timelines expected to follow, and once you fully understand what the project entails and that you believe in it, and that you are excited to offer your insights and experience into shaping this product's outcome.  Please let us know by your respective team deadlines that you are interested in participating in publishing this book with us!

Why we are:
About The GoBe Collective

The GoBe Collective is organized as a team dynamic that ranges in needs from contributors who collaborate on a common objective of creating something new.  The company's objectives are uniform across every brand - GoBe Greetings Inc., GoBe Kids and GoBe InTouch.  Each brand is thus able to create unique product offerings suited to each target market without compromising our mission, core-message or objectives.

We are a collective of co-creators.  This is at the root of every aspect of
The GoBe Collective culture.  There is no part of this social business more important than other parts - what we create or why we create or how we develop it.  It is all relevant and equally important to energize our purpose and motivate future potential.  This will drive success in ways that individually could not be realized or achieved.

To learn more about our objectives and guiding principles that are specific to developing children's products and programming or for a synopsis of the book we're developing, please click on icons below.

We're a social 'start-up' business

We have evolved with time itself.  We've embraced that our purpose as a social business is to enrich quality of life at every level by selling a product (service, app, object, etc) that is profitable.  The difference with newly emerging social cause-based businesses (which we are a part of) over a start-up or a traditional business is that all objectives hold equal weight in priority to the other objectives.  In a business, historically, the sole focus is on profit.

Below, there is an illustration of a stool.  The stool is the entire entity known as our company.  Imagine if any one of our important parts (the legs of the stool) were removed.  We just wouldn't function the best as a stool unless we were built with each leg intact.

We're a collective.  In every sense of the idea.

Picture

You can also envision a wheel with spokes.  Imagine that each spoke was already reserved for a specific insight it was preparing for.  Imagine that each spoke represents your voice, your insight, your life story as you bring it to this project.  Imagine that the other spokes are those from the other contributors.  Each spoke is vital to the wheel being in full form to function as a wheel.  If a spoke is broken or missing, or if we remove the authenticity in our expectations for something typical or historical, then the entire wheel is at risk of not functioning in the way it was purposed.

Our approach is our authenticity

Many of you are aware that The GoBe Collective had a long ideation process.  Since 2003, the co-founder has been challenging its own messages, philosophy and audience to ensure that it is fool-proof.  The sheer breath of product potentials, the market reach, the message and the purpose are enormous.  However it was 'tested' over time, everything remained as constant as ever.  All parts belong to shape this culture.  It is the contributors' responsibility to ensure that they are upholding our spirit because through the process of co-creating, new attitudes and wisdom will be forged for the product being developed and for humanity.

We are who we are and we're happy you're here to embrace some key elements:

Authenticity - We are anything but normal.  When we're able to remove normal as the standard for aspiration or reference point, then we are free to better align to our objectives and our purpose.  We mayalso remove preconceived judgments that might limit us to discover what we didn't know existed and belonged to be a part of this product or process.

Collaborative / Collective of co-creators - We know that through this process of bringing more experience and perspective to the table, we're able to transform old ways of understanding into an entirely new approach or attitude that would otherwise not exist.

Connection / Communication - We believe that the root to a great life is connecting to ourselves, to others in our relationships and within our community.  The communication skills we want to foster and promote are rooted in the mind (non-physical) and not the human brain (physical).  The brain handles native tongue-languages, computing math equations, reasoning the volume and pitch of someone's voice and handles an enormous volume of biochemical functions to operate our bodies.  We are empowering empathy, consciousness, intuition, mindfulness, awareness, interpersonal connection, inclusive tolerance and so on.

Empowerment Message - Sometimes it's spelled out clearly as in: Go and Be you everyday.  Other times, the themes or the format that something is presented in encourages the same reality of encouraging a world that is human-friendly and eco-conscious, everyday.

Positive & Progressive - We believe more positive and hopeful messages belong in the psyche of more people, especially children.  We expect an attitude towards embracing intelligence as progressive, positive, inclusive and open-minded.  Like really open-minded.  This is the only way we can create hope for that which does not exist.  If not, we are reverting to history expecting a different outcome.

This is all important because we are turning this page together, through the process of co-creating, into a direction that otherwise has not existed in the marketplace or in the collective minds of the majority in a society. Long gone are the days of surrendering into ideas like:
that's just the way it is, or you can't do anything about it.   Where we want to go in developing children's stories can really only be achieved through this inclusive and inquisitive collaborative approach in discovering new insights toward what we are tasked to co-create.

Depending on what has shaped your life experience so far, your understanding and trust of your purpose may vary in clarity or intensity from time to time throughout your life journey as a whole.  However, it is the surest and most consistent elements that shine through regardless of the season or short-term temporary storm that might be passing through.  It is pure light and it brings you deep rooted awareness of all that is - and that is pure wisdom.

Connecting it all together

We inspire connections everyday!

Some individuals or groups of people in human history have succeeded at trusting this awareness within themselves and have lived on for centuries or millennia in admiration and respect as a human that did well while alive.  Many of these individuals are recognized with a following of people that developed into what are known as religions based on that person who lived connected to pure light of purpose, everyday.   Others were successful in developing technology that would baffle us today as in the pyramids in Ancient Egypt.

It's these people that lived around the Mediterranean that promoted the elements of love and peace and kinship, throughout our collective history, that we're exploring in NightOwl & EarlyBird and Life at the Olive Tree.  We're bringing into perspective the lives of those everyday heroes, heroines, religious leaders, philosophers and ancient rulers for their bravery, their internal strength, their fire-power leadership, their selfless compassion and their intuitive connection that we can always aspire to.

We'll be able to bring alive a timeless picture of the lifestyle, the fashion, the food, family-life, architecture and the compassionate intelligence of the people that were there learning the message of peace throughout history.  We will be able to unite a record of history into one that fits altogether as a collective of peace and not a competition of what was  or who was better.  Each was authentic for their time and place.  And the olive is the root of origin connecting these stories together.  These eras or cultures include:
  • Ancient Egypt
  • Ancient Greece
  • Ancient Rome
  • Ottoman Empire
  • Judaism
  • Christianity
  • Islam
  • Byzantine Era

A personal recount:  So far, so good!

NightOwl & EarlyBird was the first of four children's concepts developed over a year period from mid-2014 to mid-2015.  These stories explore the fundamental themes of living a great life empowered with compassion and wisdom.  They enhance our company's belief of living great while presenting non-physical communication skills throughout our interactive delivery approach.

Although I sought encouragement and feedback throughout the initial development from other team members, Renza Denomme and Stephanie Parete, there was doubt for not having experience in writing or illustrating children's books.  As the storyboards, character development, and interactive elements were coming to more maturity, I made a variety of trust-like and doubt-like statements such as, "Now what?"  "Who will publish this book?"  "What do I do with this concept?"  "Did I get this right?" and so on.

Within days of this contemplation, Christina Berliner made an unexpected phone call as she tracked me down while I was visiting my parents in Amherstburg.  She said, "I have Scholastic!"   She was busy making the necessary arrangements to pitch the story to Scholastic NYC,  all unbeknownst to me at the time, but this mirrored my intuitive questioning of what to do next with amazing timing.  Many of you have entered or re-entered this project because of very similar intuitive requests and questions.  Again, I am happy you are here.

We prepared a simple pitch for Scholastic, but it was missing any real insight or info for fear of exposure and legal ill-preparedness.  Because this was so immediate, we received very constructive feedback for  potentially turning NightOwl & EarlyBird into a children's series book!  And so, I got a lawyer to incorporate the business for protection.   We've tested out publishing The Wonder Walls, but this is the real test (and it's the one that everyone seems to resonate with and love the characters... as do I).

And this is where we're at.  The feedback and insights from Scholastic form the completed synopsis which is ready to review.

Being a contributor on this project

The first and foremost aim, is to encourage you to be honest and present with where you're at with your life and where you want your life to go.  So far, we have offered you insight into how we're structured so as to need and want contributors to help shape our stories and empower our audience collaboratively.

As each product or project is authentic within The GoBe Collective, we've identified the contributors we think would be ideal to participate within our culture and for this specific children's book.  Let's meet the proposed team contributors before we get to what our objectives are and what time frame we're aiming for.

Creative & Tech contributors

The creative contributors will develop unique opportunities to involve readers and their parents or caregivers into the life of the story in a dynamic way.  We will explore ways to enhance, supplement or influence the outcome of the stories in a variety of methods such as:
  • conversation starters or reflective opportunities throughout book
  • creative input with options to share on social media
  • tech used to choose the conflicts & resolutions
  • tech used to explore cultures in history with olive recipes in food
  • tech used to share creative outcomes to co-create the story ending as a global collective

Business & Marketing contributors

The business marketing contributors will assist in presenting the  tangible storybook to partnerships to publish.  There are many post-production opportunities that are potentially available for the story to continue teaching stories of peace and friendship through cultural and creative exchanges that are unique to the children's marketplace but will require investor, celebrity, publisher and/ or tech support.

Cultural consultant contributors

The cultural consultants will enhance the story and themes by empowering youth with insights into global cultures that border the Mediterranean and throughout history.  Many of the cultural opportunities will be built into the first original tangible storybook building anticipating for exploring online later.   The story potentials, through time travel, will explore new environment settings with food recipes that involve a variety of olives used in various cultural dishes such as the kalamata olive in Greek salads or the nutritional or health benefits of olive oils.   The story also encourages creativity for the end of the story that can be shared globally through a kid-focused social media platform specific for this story as an evolving cultural journal on peace.
